Website error codes also known as “HTTP Status Codes” are standard response codes given by web site servers on the Internet. The codes help identify the cause of the problem when a web page or other resource does not load properly.
When you first set up an account with Hosting Your Name you may notice that you have several files in your public_html folder. Included should be five #.shtml files. These files are important because should an error occur with your website you can match the error number with the number in our knowledge base and solve the problem.
You can also customize these error sites simply use the same name as the save file. i.e. 404.shtml
